Barbour and Morant began working together in the 1990s. Barbour worked for Casey & Associates (one of the biggest companies buying foreclosures and fixing up houses at the time) out of Atlanta, setting up a satellite office in Augusta. During his time there he received many accolades: Salesperson of the Month, Rookie of the Year, Multi-million Dollar Producer, and Best Real Estate Agent of the Year.

As the Head of Interior Design for the Veterans Affairs, Morant became interested in real estate and formed a working relationship with Barbour, buying and revitalizing homes in the CSRA. A bond formed as the two, who were both fond of Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad, began playing Cashflow together, the classic game that teaches people financial freedom. Others soon joined in on the game, playing it weekly at Sussex in the Brentwood subdivision. The group of players expanded to a large number of investors who began flipping houses. Barbour and Morant continue to work with many of these investors today.

Barbour, Morant, and real estate investor Justin Anderson are also known for establishing the Augusta Real Estate Investors Association (REIA) . This was formed in the late 90s after the trio recognized the importance of bringing local real estate investors together in the CSRA. Today, REIA has hundreds of members. In 2015, Barbour and Morant launched I Buy Houses Cash, helping homeowners find solutions in difficult situations and renovating houses in the CSRA, revitalizing neighborhoods one house at a time.
